A port bow view, taken from fine off the bow, of the German passenger liner Deutschland (1900) alongside the Prince of Wales Pier in Dover Harbour with a damaged stem. When leaving the Prince of Wales Pier for New York at 11.35 a.m. on 13 July her bow swung and the stem was badly twisted by hitting the pier. She returned to the pier to disembark passengers and mails and was taken to Southampton on 20 July to be repaired by Harland & Wolff. A note on the vertical format negative says the photographer is using Camera B.
