A close starboard bow view, taken from very fine off the bow, of the container ship Seatrain Valley Forge (1978) alongside a container berth at Wilmington, Los Angeles. The photographer is standing on the quayside in front of the bow looking aft. The name Seatrain Valley Forge is painted on the starboard bow and a large 'J' (the symbol of the shipowner H. Janssen of Bad Zwischenhan, West Germany) is painted on the centre of the bow. A portainer crane for loading containers is positioned over the vessel.
