The ship's captain, possibly N.E. Hucker, is standing on the port bridge wing by one of the telegraphs. The second-in-command, wearing lieutenant's rings on his sleeve, is standing by the other telegraph. The ship is making light smoke. A note on the negative says the photographer is using Camera B.
