A slightly distant starboard quarter view of the Orient Line passenger/cargo liner Orontes (1902) under tow of the tug Sirdar (1899) in Tilbury Dock, Essex. The tug, seen from above her port bow, is connected to the stern of the Orontes and is towing her towards the entrance lock of the docks. A rowing boat is close alongside the bow of the tug and a two-funnelled liner, possibly a Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company vessel, is berthed in the background. Shed P is on the left.
