Looking aft from the forecastle on board the container ship Seatrain Valley Forge (1978) while under way at sea

Looking aft from the forecastle on board the container ship Seatrain Valley Forge (1978) while under way at sea. The photographer is standing on the centre line of the forecastle looking aft showing the windlass and anchor chain in the foreground. The ship is well laden and some of the containers have the word 'Seatrain' and 6 digit numbers on them. A crewman wearing a grey shirt and white trousers is walking underneath a suspended container on the right hand side of the image. The top of the superstructure, funnel and mast are in the background. This is Slide 10 of a lecture given by Captain Henry P. Bird detailing his service as Relief Second Officer on board the container ship Seatrain Valley Forge (1978) owned by Marejet Bereiderung GMBH & Co. from 23 November 1979 to 7 February 1980.
