Inside the wheelhouse on board the container ship Seatrain Valley Forge (1978) while under way at sea. The photographer is standing on the port side of the wheelhouse looking to starboard and slightly forward. The ship's wheel is in the centre and the compass is between the steering console and the wheelhouse window. A longer navigation console is on the right hand side of the wheel. Numerous dials, including a barometer, are set into the bulkhead just above the wheelhouse window.
