A slightly distant starboard near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of an unidentified general cargo ship under way in The Downs. The ship is in ballast and has two masts and a single, tall funnel. She has a forecastle, forward well, bridge deck, after well and poop. The name on her bow consists of five letters but is not quite legible. The photographer has written the following details on the negative: SS. "Tamar" E.T.A. Camera A. 10.9.1902. No vessel named Tamar with this configuration can be found in Lloyd's Register for the period 1900 to 1904.
