Containers being worked on board the container ship Seatrain Valley Forge (1978) which is berthed at Kowloon, Hong Kong

Containers being worked on board the container ship Seatrain Valley Forge (1978) which is berthed at Kowloon, Hong Kong. The ship is berthed port side to the quay and the photographer is on the port side of the bridge looking forward and slightly to starboard showing a container being lifted or lowered by a portainer crane. The letters "HIT" (Hong Kong International Terminals Limited) are painted on the side of the crane. Containers are on the quay and are being moved on trailers hauled by tractor units on the left hand side of the image. There are seven stacks of containers visible on the ship. Kwung Tong and the Kwung Tong Promenade are in the background. This is Slide 24 of a lecture given by Captain Henry P. Bird detailing his service as Relief Second Officer on board the container ship Seatrain Valley Forge (1978) owned by Marejet Bereiderung GMBH & Co. from 23 November 1979 to 7 February 1980.
