A distant port near broadside view, taken from abaft the beam, of the Royal Navy scout cruiser Blonde (1910) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. On the right is a spritsail barge under sail heading down river. She is fully laden and has a small deck cargo. She has a flying jib, staysail, spritsail, gaff topsail and mizzen sail set in very light winds. Another spritsail barge is in the right background. In the centre background is one of the Gravesend coal hulks and in the left background, seen from abaft her port beam, is the battleship Dominion (1903).
