Knife sheath
Part of a leather and iron bayonet scabbard cut down for a knife sheath from the 1845 British Northwest Passage Expedition led by Sir John Franklin. A sheath with a brass chape at the end. The leather has two slits on the side to attach it to a belt and the top has splits cut into the leather in four places. It is one of several bayonet scabbards cut down to make knife sheaths found by McClintock.
