January 1911 was a busy month for the expedition. They landed at Cape Evans, began unloading their goods and provisions, and started the process of settling in. By 17 January they had moved into their prefabricated hut at Cape Evans. Bowers worked tirelessly throughout, leading Scott to describe him as a "perfect treasure".
