A film crew working in the abandoned No. 1 Smithery in Chatham Dockyard. A man with his back to the camera is talking to the presenter, believed to be Fred Beckwith, chief foreman of the smiths. The sound man, with his microphone, and a technician are standing by a sound equipment trolley. Pieter van der Merwe is operating the tripod mounted camera and a repeater screen is on a four-wheeled trolley in front of him. They are in the north-west side of the building.
