The presenter and a film crew working in the abandoned No. 1 Smithery in Chatham Dockyard. The presenter, believed to be Fred Beckwith, chief foreman of the smiths, has his hands in his pockets and is facing the camera, which is operated by Pieter van der Merwe. The sound man, with his microphone, and a technician are standing by a camera repeater screen on a four-wheeled trolley and the sound equipment trolley is on the right, behind the tripod of the camera. They are in the north-west side of the building.
