A close view of one end of the galvanising tank in the zinc galvanising shop in Number 1 Boiler Shop in Chatham Dockyard. The tank is full of zinc ammonium chloride and water and at the end of the tank is a pile of scum and a perforated paddle used for clearing the scum off the top of the liquid.
