A close up view of the lock mechanism of a steel safe in the locksmiths' workshop in Number 5 Machine Shop in Chatham Dockyard. The mechanism is a combination lock which controls single locking bars at the top and bottom and two bars at the side of the safe. On the inside is a stamp with a crown symbol and DOE/PSA INSP 11 and the date 8 Sep 1978.
