The El Shefaa Mosque in Ismailia, Egypt, taken from the Suez Canal on board the lighthouse and buoy tender Relume (1979) which is heading south on a delivery voyage from Troon, Scotland, to Bahrain. The photographer is standing on the starboard side looking to starboard. The El Shefaa mosque is situated on the west bank of the canal and the Ajat Church is next to it, in the middle of the image. This is Slide 17 of a lecture titled "World Wide Ship Delivery" given by Captain Henry P. Bird detailing his service as Chief Officer for the delivery of the lighthouse and buoy tender Relume (1979) owned by Middle East Navigation Aids Service from 3 May 1979 to 18 June 1979 and then Chief Officer for the delivery of the lighthouse and buoy tender Relume I (1952) owned by the same company to the ship breakers yard from 18 June 1979 to 30 June 1979. The lecture consists of 30 slides.
