In the Suez Canal looking forward from on board the lighthouse and buoy tender Relume (1979) which is heading south on a delivery voyage from Troon, Scotland, to Bahrain. The photographer is standing on the starboard side in way of the aft lifeboat station looking forward showing the bow wave. The superstructure and forecastle of the vessel are on the left and a partial view of a covered lifeboat in its davits is in the foreground. The letters "NDON" (most likely London) are painted on the stern of the lifeboat. The west bank of the canal is in the background. This is Slide 16 of a lecture titled "World Wide Ship Delivery" given by Captain Henry P. Bird detailing his service as Chief Officer for the delivery of the lighthouse and buoy tender Relume (1979) owned by Middle East Navigation Aids Service from 3 May 1979 to 18 June 1979 and then Chief Officer for the delivery of the lighthouse and buoy tender Relume I (1952) owned by the same company to the ship breakers yard from 18 June 1979 to 30 June 1979.
