Also titled 'How an Antarctic Sledge Expedition Carries its Food and Camp Equipment'. Photograph shows a laden sledge in front of the port bow of the exploration ship Discovery (1901). Among other provisions, the sledge is packed with oil, boxes of biscuits, a sleeping bag, a tent, and a cooker.

Hut Point Peninsula is in the background. Photograph taken before February 1904 when the memorial cross to Able Seaman George Vince was erected.
