Dutch Harbour, Unalaska Island, Aleutian Islands, Alaska, United States, taken on board the suction hopper dredger Geopotes X (1969). According to the photographer's autobiography, Geopotes X stopped here to refuel before continuing on to the Arctic. Two unidentified vessels are in the middle ground on the right hand side of the image. A third unidentified vessel is in the background ground in the middle of the image. There is a distant and obscured view of buildings (?) on the bank at the bottom of a mountain in the background. Two moss covered mountains are in the background. This is Slide 39 of a lecture titled "World Wide Ship Delivery" given by Captain Henry P. Bird detailing his service as Chief Officer for the suction hopper dredger Geopotes X (1969), owned by Volker Dredging Co Ltd, from 24 June 1980 to 14 July 1980. The lecture also details his service with the same ship as Second Officer, chartered by Dome Petroleum Company, Canada, from 4 August 1980 to 11 September 1980. The lecture consists of 56 slides.
