Two States yachts alongside a quay

In the centre of the composition, a States yacht is lying along a quay in starboard view. She has a flag flying from her masthead. On her starboard quarter is a kaag, and astern of her is another yacht. The key is crowded with people.

Willem van de Velde, the Younger, frequently used grey paper for his drawings. The drawing is unsigned.
