A Dutch flagship with a fresh beam wind

A compositional drawing showing a Dutch ship with the wind on the port beam and a flag at the main. In the left middle distance is another ship lying dead before the wind.

The drawing is signed in grey ink: ‘W V Velde Jonge’ and is possibly a contemporary copy, or even a later imitation of a work by Willem Van de Velde, the Younger.
