The names of the apprentices (according to the photographer's autobiography) are Llewelyn and Jerrun. The two apprentices are looking at the photographer. This is Slide 42 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Second Officer on board the motor bulk carrier Wilkawa (1964) owned by Sir William Reardon Smith & Sons Ltd of Cardiff, from 17 May 1970 to 26 November 1970. This series consists of 83 slides.
