A starboard quarter view of the bulk carrier Arctic (1968) passing through Miraflores Lock of the Panama canal parallel taken from the bulk carrier Wilkawa (1964). The words "Arctic Monrovia" are painted on the stern of the ship and it is being pulled along by lock mules on both sides of the canal. Two people are walking along the lock in the middle ground. Bird's service as Second Officer on board the motor bulk carrier Wilkawa (1964) owned by Sir William Reardon Smith & Sons Ltd of Cardiff, from 17 May 1970 to 26 November 1970. This series consists of 83 slides.
