A view of the Don Pedro Miguel Lock on the Panama Canal taken from the bulk carrier Wilkawa (1964). The photographer is standing on the poop deck looking aft and to starboard. The lock gates and control room building are in the middle ground. Two mules are parked on the right hand side of the lock in the middle ground whilst another mules is in the middle lock in the foreground. This is Slide 58 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Second Officer on board the motor bulk carrier Wilkawa (1964) owned by Sir William Reardon Smith & Sons Ltd of Cardiff, from 17 May 1970 to 26 November 1970. This series consists of 83 slides.
