An informal photograph of the third officer and a Indian apprentice on the bridge of the bulk carrier London Explorer (1959) while underway at full speed ahead. The photographer is standing on the port side of the bridge looking to starboard and slightly aft. According to the autobiographer's notes. the third officer's name is 'Andy' whilst the apprentice is named 'Alf'. Both men are looking at the photographer. This is Slide 4 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Second Officer on board the bulk carrier London Explorer (1959), owned by London & Overseas Freighters Ltd. from 11 July 1972 to 16 October 1972. The series consists of 39 slides.
