A view looking aft on board the bulk carrier London Explorer [ex Overseas Explorer] (1959) at sea. The photographer is standing on the port side of the wheelhouse top on the midship superstructure looking aft and slightly to starboard. The goalpost masts are in the fore and middle ground. The aft superstructure and funnel are in the background. The funnel has a yellow, white and blue stripe. A crewman is walking on the centre line companionway towards the superstructure in the middle ground. There is a lifeboat stowed in its davits on the port and starboard side of the boat deck in the background. This is Slide 7 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Second Officer on board the bulk carrier London Explorer [ex Overseas Explorer] (1959), owned by London & Overseas Freighters Ltd. from 11 July 1972 to 16 October 1972. The series consists of 39 slides.
