5 Chinese dock workers stowing timber on the main deck of the bulk carrier London Explorer [ex Overseas Explorer] (1959) berthed at Sembawang, Singapore. The photographer is standing on the port side of the main deck just forward of the midship superstructure looking aft. Two of the dock workers are moving a pile of timer into position against the side of the winch house whilst the other three are standing back on the right hand side of the image. One of the three dock workers is looking at the photographer. A partial view of the port side of the midship superstructure and stowed port side lifeboat are in the background. This is Slide 23 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Second Officer on board the bulk carrier London Explorer [ex Overseas Explorer] (1959), owned by London & Overseas Freighters Ltd. from 11 July 1972 to 16 October 1972. The series consists of 39 slides.
