A partial view of 3 lighters berthed alongside the bulk carrier London Explorer [ex Overseas Explorer] (1959) in Port Klang, Malaysia. The photographer is standing on the starboard side of the upper bridge deck looking down and forward. Parcels of sawn timber are stacked and lashed on the main deck. One of the lighters is loaded with more parcels of sawn timber under a blue tarpaulin with the number "804" painted on the side of the wheelhouse. One of the other lighters is also loaded with parcels of sawn timber under a grey tarpaulin with the number "872" painted on the side of the wheelhouse. A crewman is standing on the starboard side of the forecastle deck of London Explorer in the background. This is Slide 31 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Second Officer on board the bulk carrier London Explorer [ex Overseas Explorer] (1959), owned by London & Overseas Freighters Ltd. from 11 July 1972 to 16 October 1972. The series consists of 39 slides.
