Two crewman repainting the funnel of the bulk carrier London Explorer (1959). The photographer is standing on the starboard side of the casing top looking aft and to port. One crewman is sitting on the left and the second is standing on the right on a suspended plank of wood, fastened to the top of the funnel. A third crewmen is standing next to the air intake for the twin heating unit on the casing top in the foreground. This is Slide 36 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Second Officer on board the bulk carrier London Explorer (1959), owned by London & Overseas Freighters Ltd. from 11 July 1972 to 16 October 1972. The series consists of 39 slides.
