No.1 hatch is in the foreground of the vessel. This images shows the forecastle before it was painted by the crew. 2 brown and white lifebelts are fastened to the railing either side of the wheelhouse. This is Slide 4 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Chief Officer for the coaster King On [ex- Stability] (1949) owned by Everards of Greenhithe from 24 October 1973 to 3 January 1974. This series consists of 49 slides.
