Display label
South Kensington Museum display label for the washer. Adopted by the Admiralty to prevent the armour bolts breaking of at the point, at the moment of impact. Proposed by Mr B. Truss, 1865. Metal rectangular label with clipped corners adhered to a wooden mount.
