A view of a tree near a formal garden in Kalamata, Greece
A view of a tree near a formal garden in Kalamata, Greece. The photographer is possibly standing near the Port Authority building on a road looking northwards to wards the entrance of a formal garden. To the left of the entrance is a tree in full bloom with purple blossoms. The photographer refers to this tree as a 'blue tree' on the card mount of the photograph. Two buildings partially obscured by hedges are on the left hand side of the image. There is an obscured view of a parked yellow fork lift truck parked behind the garden entrance. Mountains are in the background. This is Slide 9 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Watchkeeping Officer for the cable ship John W. Mackay (1922) owned by Commercial Cable Company of London from 1 June 1975 to 6 July 1975. This series consists of 25 slides.
