The satellite navigator console in the Chart Room on the cable ship John W. Mackay (1922). The console stands on a red and green checquered pattern floor. A partial view of a plans chest is on the left hand side of the image. The wors 'General Automation SPC-16/40' are on a label fastened to the satelitte navigator. A note made by the photographer on the card mount states this photograph was taken during the Columbus cable survey. This is Slide 1 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Watchkeeping Officer for the cable ship John W. Mackay (1922) owned by Commercial Cable Company of London from 31 July 1975 to 28 October 1975. This series consists of 17 slides.
