There are 12 cars parked in front of the cable tanks in the middle ground. There is a blue metal gantry, possibly for transporting cable, situated over the top of the cable which then traverses over the road in front of the phtographer towards the top left corner of the image. This is Slide 2 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Watchkeeping Officer for the cable ship John W. Mackay (1922) owned by Commercial Cable Company of London from 26 November 1975 to 24 April 1976. This series consists of 33 surviving slides.
