The Notre Dame Cathedral in Papeete, French Polynesia. The photographer is standing on the far side of the street looking south east towards the left hand corner of the entrace to the cathedral. Part of the front face of the catherdral is obscured by a tree. The cathedral is painted whtie with a red tiled roof. There are numerous cars stationary at traffic lights and parked in the foreground on the left side of the image. 5 cars are parked on the right side of the image next to the cathedral. The catherdral's spire bears two clocks on the tower both read 10 minutes past 10. There is a large ornate window on the cathedral tower below the clocks. 4 large widnows and a secondary entrance are on the left side of the cathedral. Mountains are in the distant background. This is Slide 10 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Watchkeeping Officer for the cable ship John W. Mackay (1922) owned by Commercial Cable Company of London from 26 November 1975 to 24 April 1976. This series consists of 33 surviving slides.
