Greenwich Hospital from the river
A precise small panoramic pencil study, slightly from the west. The globe on one of the piers of the Hospital West Gate is clearly shown, apparently already moved to its current position (from 1850) and there is no sign of the tenements round Fisher Lane. This suggests that the date is around 1850 - though it may be earlier since there is no sign of Greenwich Pier. The river stairs by what may be the Ship Inn on the right are clearly shown.
