A selection of sketches by Cooke depicting scenes in the Port of London. At the top of the page is a hulk - an old ship converted into a floating storehouse or temporary accomodation. The next drawing is of a dolphin - a large wooden pile used as a mooring post for ships or as a beacon. At the bottom, Cooke has sketched a small sailing vessel alongside several rowing boats at low tide. Cooke exhibited at the Royal Academy, 1835-79, and was made ARA in 1851 and RA in 1863.
