Spritsail barges alongside a wharf on the River Medway at Aylesford, Kent
A distant starboard quarter view of two spritsail barges alongside a wharf on the River Medway at Aylesford, Kent. They are loading Kentish ragstone by chute and the nearest barge is fully laden. The nearest barge is said by the photographer to be the Lord Warden (1891) but this is in doubt. The port of registry on the transom looks like London but the Lord Warden (1891) was registered at Ramsgate.
