Eastbourne sprat boat
The ca. 25ft lute-sterned, clinker-built Eastbourne lugger William and Dorothy, regd NN145, described on the negative envelope as a sprat boat, is shown from the port side, beached but with both dipping lug foresail and boomed standing lug mizzen hoisted. Forward of and beyond the William and Dorothy, other similar boats rest keel-up on the beach while NN44 and three others are seen in the background resting on their keels beyond the William and Dorothy's stern.
