Tenby lugger

This photograph, reproduced in The Chatham Directory of Inshore Craft, shows the half-decked, carvel-built Tenby lugger Florence, regd M81, seen abeam from to windward, under sail off Tenby, with a jib set on a long bowsprit and a dipping lug foresail and a spritsail mizzen on a transom-mounted mizzen mast. The boat is ca. 25ft LOD. A long bumkin extends downwards from the stern to which the mizzen is sheeted. Seated close to the helmsman are a man and woman, likely from their dress to be paying excursion passengers.
