King's Lynn fishing vessels
Towing its tender into the harbour of King's Lynn under power in the foreground is the auxiliary shrimping boat Witham, regd LN103. The boat, some 25ft long, is gaff cutter-rigged but no bowsprit appears to be in place. The Witham's fish hold is clearly visible amidships behind the mast, with a sliding hatch in a low, short doghouse behind it. In the background are two ca. 17ft auxiliary inshore fishing boats, and one slightly longer, aground. The most distant boat to the right of the centre of the image is of the Essex smack type, seen stern-on.
