Sheringham crab boats
Some 20 of Sheringham's beamy, double-ended, clinker-built rowing crab boats are seen sharing the town's beach with tourists and tents. Each boat has three thwarts and sets of 'orruck' holes for oars cut through the sheer plank, and bitts athwartships at each end to which mooring lines would be secured. This image is reproduced as a full-page plate in The Chatham Directory of Inshore Craft.
