St Ives pilchard driver at Newlyn under aux. sail

A St Ives pilchard driver regd SS62 is seen under sail off the harbour mouth of Newlyn, viewed from the starboard stern quarter, with a crew of four on board, including the helmsman. In the foreground to the right a man stands on the quay holding a boat's painter, while the luff of the foresail of another lugger following SS62 out of the harbour is in the left foreground. The wind being light, the dipping lug foresail of SS62 is to windward of the mainmast, maybe in anticipation of a tack to port.
