Portpatrick line boat Brothers
The double-ended, clinker-built Portpatrick line boat Brothers, regd. BA318, ca. 18ft long, is seen from astern being rowed ashore, albeit with both sails set, in too light a wind for the rig to propel it. A high peaked, boomed gaff mizzen is hoisted on lightweight spars, with a dipping lug foresail. The man rowing amidships with long sweeps has a companion sitting just forward of him, also facing astern.
