Tenby luggers

The starboard beam of the carvel-built Tenby lugger Florence, regd. M81, is shown here, from a distance of about 40ft. The boat is resting on legs at its mooring in Tenby harbour. A rope fender rests on the gunwale over the starboard leg. As in the remainder of the negatives sequence P75482-P75485 of photographs of the lugger Florence in Tenby Harbour, this one shows the boat aground at low tide, hence confirms that it has no engine. The boat's stem is vertical above the waterline, and only gently curved below it. Among other vessels partially visible in this image is another Tenby lugger, regd M20. The quay beyond these vessels ends on the right at a castellated circular building of which only part is visible.
