King's Lynn fishing vessels
Between two Lynn shrimpers, the Shamrock to the right, regd LN253 and the Witham to the left, regd LN103, each moored facing the camera above their bows, another shrimper lies moored facing the other way. The Shamrock and the middle shrimper each have nets hanging to dry astern of their masts. The Witham, ca. 35ft LOD, has a roofed cabin with companionway hatch aft, and an open fish hold with a high coaming between this cabin and the mast. Alone of the vessels moored in the vicinity, the Witham has a mainsail laced to its spars. The Shamrock has a larger cockpit and a covered hold on which its mast is is stepped, with a shrimp boiler chimney piercing the deck just forward of it.The name of one more distant shrimper, the Rachel, regd LN127, is just visible.
