Selsey fishing boats on beach

A clinker-built Selsey boat with no spars is seen here, its bow to the left, behind 11 crab pots on the shingle of Selsey beach. No name or registration number is visible. The boat's paintwork and gunwales appear to be in poor condition, such that it may not have been in use for some time. Amid a heap of weighted nets stored on board, a piece of timber lying longitudinally is of indistinct origin or purpose. Behind the boat stands a small, single-storey building which may be of tarred clapboard construction and which has a dilapidated thatched roof.
