Selsey beach boats

The clinker-built Selsey fishing boat LI42 is seen here bow-on, hauled up on shingle and heeled to port. The image is virtually identical to that shown in P75650, except that the camera has been placed a step or so further to the right. A mooring rope extends towards the camera from the starboard side of a short bowsprit, which appears to be rigged with a rope bobstay passed through a hole mid-way down the stem. Wooden rollers on the shingle ease the boat's passage over the beach during launch and recovery. In the foreground to the right is a crab pot.
