Shoreham aux. lugger Kentish Maid laid up at Newhaven, 1942

The auxiliary Shoreham lugger Kentish Maid is seen from the port stern quarter, laid up ashore at Newhaven. The view shows the shallow transom bearing its name above its lute stern. To the port of the sternpost is a three-blade propeller. On deck are various ropes and net-hauling devices on the port and starboard gunwales near the bows. The gunwales and internal equipment appear damaged to varying degrees. A harbour building stands behind the boat.
