Shoreham aux.fishing lugger SM387 at Newhaven, 1942
A Shoreham auxiliary fishing lugger regd SM387 is seen beam-on from the starboard side, laid up aground at Newhaven, with fishing nets hanging over a wooden pier behind it. Clinker planking has been reinforced on the bow quarter. The boat carries no visible equipment or rigging other than what appears to be the stump of a mainmast, and there is no rudder behind the three-bladed propeller beneath the lute stern. Parts of further fishing boats are visible behind the pier beyond the SM387.
